Cord-cutting meditation is clearing the negative attachments we have made with others in our body.

When we have attachments with other people in our surroundings, like a co-worker, lover, friend, or someone we might have met briefly, a cord gets attached between us – “an energy cord”. Some people may send energy cords to you, even whom you might not know, especially if you are a public figure or doing something big & meaningful in the world. You might have too many cords attached to you that you don’t even know of, because they are seeing you on social media & sending you energy your way. This energy may become a HUGE drag, that can weigh you down or make you feel overwhelmed. Particularly with people you have resentment with or there is a need to forgive- maybe a past lover or someone else with an unsettled relationship.

This is a practice that can help heal you physically, heal you energetically, change your relationships with your overall wellbeing, if you practice it regularly.

Cord cutting meditation is a very powerful yet protective way to remove and clear any negative attachments, helping you pull back your power & energy for full freedom. The way negative attachments come to you, similarly you may have attachments towards others, which serve no purpose.

We do not need to invite or attach ourselves to others to receive energy, we have all the energy and power we need within ourselves.

Simple solution is practicing a “Guided Cord Cutting Meditation”

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position.

Close your eyes and sit/lie down at rest.

Breathe deeply from the nostrils & then breath out, loosening your body.

With the next breath try to accept and feel what is & let go of what’s not meant to stay.

Keep breathing slow & deep to release any unwanted & undescribed feelings.

Find that quite place within which is undisturbed & the refuge that keeps you sane & safe in your still place, no matter what your outer world seems like, stick to this inner stillness.

As you start to look for a door to release all your imagination into the new world, make that connect in your mind to what kind of world you want, the shape, size, color of the door.

Imagine the door handle, open the door and step into the newer & brighter side, leaving BEHIND the old self.

Step into your new world, brighter, more enlightening self, with a pool of water, noticing all the tiny details of the environment, taking note of all vivid details around you.

As you start to walk towards the pool of water and sit near the pool of water feeling the freshness and beauty, releasing all your apprehensions washing away into the pool of water.

Now as you breath in, let in the soothing light of the moon & stars & let this light illuminate each internal organ of your body & mind.

As you fill yourself with this luminous glow, sense this energetic cocoon all around you, and immerse yourself under the soothing moonlight.

Feel it as long & deep as you can. As you become still, you might find your energy sources and locate these cords, branches & energy sources and become more aware of it with each practice.

As you take a deep breath repeat to yourself “I reclaim my own energy and release all the unwanted cords attached to me”. Now breathe deeper and fill yourself with more positive energy and more light.

As you breathe deeply, breathe out even more slowly, feeling the light pushing out all the energy. While in the process you may feel heat or cold or a bout of emotions, let it flow, release it out of your system to cleanse yourself.

You are doing so well. Now imagine you can reach one of your disconnected cords with your hands. Dip it in the pool of water and let it heal & stretch and say “THANK YOU, I release you” and send them back from where they came.

Take time and repeat this with each cord you unattached yourself from, heal, release & let it be.

Release any last cords and lighten yourself up, take a deep inhale & a full exhale, as you dip your feet in the pool of water and heal your body as you lower yourself into the pool. You lie on your back and float in the water admiring, the healing power of water under the blanket of stars & moonlit sky. Feel this water filling in any gap in your body making it clear, smooth and fulfilling.

Soak yourself in this healing pool of water for 1 more minute and feel the power inside of yourself.

One thing that might happen after practicing cord cutting meditation is that people from the past might try connecting back to you, be gentle to yourself and release & heal.

Practicing the Cord-cutting Meditation for 25 days (though 30 days is ideal).

Make a commitment to remain unapologetic about your boundaries with people & the environment that drains your energy. Keep your beautiful warm energy, and your peace of mind intact.

Practice this Cord-cutting meditation for at least a month to see an amazing change in your energy levels & personality as a whole.

Be happily energetic?

Ever thought of “detoxing” or “cleansing,” for weight loss or wellness? Fruits and vegetables are associated with a reduced risk of many chronic diseases, including heart disease and certain types of cancers. However, few of us meet the daily recommended fruit and vegetable intake. Is juice a good way to improve intake? Do trendy cold-pressed juices really boost energy and cure disease? Which claims have merit, and what role can juice play in a healthy diet?

Pro: Getting more produce. “Most people do not consume nearly enough fruit. A combination of whole fruit and 100 percent fruit juice is the most effective way to meet the fruit shortfall, without paying more,” says Adam Drewnowski, Ph.D., director of the Center for Public Health Nutrition at the University of Washington. “For some people, 100 percent juice is the lower-cost option for meeting nutrient requirements.”

Con: Lack of fibre. While drinking your fruits and vegetables is a convenient way to reach your daily produce goals, eating whole fruits and veggies, with their intact fibre, will likely leave you more satisfied. When you eat a piece of whole fruit, its intact fibre slows the digestion of the natural sugars.

When you drink juice, you get sugar without fibre to slow it down.

Pro: Better diet quality. Drinking 100 percent fruit juice is associated with improved diet quality in children and adults, particularly with making sure children, adolescents and teens get enough of key nutrients like vitamins A and C, potassium, folate, and magnesium.

Con: Not all juices are equal. The term “juicing” refers to juice extraction from fruits and vegetables, but not all juices are created equal, and many are not 100 percent juice. Some are thinned or filtered, while juice “cocktails” or juice blends may contain one or more juices, with much of the sugar coming from added sugars. These types of juice don’t offer as much nutrition as 100 percent juice or whole fruits and vegetables.

Pro: Phytonutrient boost. Along with vitamins and minerals, juice may give you a phytonutrient boost. Phytonutrients are compounds made by plants that have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory or other benefits for health. A study in Nutrients found that even 1/2-cup of Concord grape juice per day provides enough polyphenols (a type of phytonutrient) to reduce several risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including blood pressure.

Con: It’s not “magic.” Even though phytonutrients may also support our immune system, the juice isn’t a magic elixir for detoxing or boosting the immune system. The liver needs protein and adequate calories to transform toxins into a form that we can eliminate. Our intestines need fibre to speed that elimination. Also, our gut microbiota plays a role in immunity, and those microbes feed on fibre.

Juicing healthfully:

Like to juice at home or visit your local juice bar? Here’s what you need to know:

Think supplemental. Use juicing to supplement your daily diet, not as your diet. Juice can be a great way to squeeze in additional vitamins and minerals, but it doesn’t have the fibre, protein, and fat that are also essential for health.

Keep calories in check. Juice may be full of nutrients, but it still contains calories. How many calories are in your juice? That depends on what’s in it, and the serving size. If you use vegetables in your juice blend, the calories will be lower than if you are drinking pure fruit juice.

Put vegetables first. When you juice fruit, you get all of the nutrients and all of the natural sugar, but none of the fibre, so the amount of sugar and calories per serving becomes more concentrated (more in a smaller amount). Juicing primarily vegetables like dark leafy greens, celery, and cucumber, then adding a small amount of fruit, like apple or kiwi, or root vegetables (carrots or beets) for sweetness is the better way to go. A hint of lemon, lime, or ginger is a nice touch.

Don’t ditch the fibre. When you juice, you don’t get the fibre that’s in whole fruits and vegetables, because juicing machines extract the juice and leave behind the fibre-rich pulp. If you juice at home, you can stir some of the pulp back into the juice or use it in cooking. Try adding fruit pulp to muffin batter, or use vegetable pulp when making broth, pasta sauce, or casseroles

Bitter foods often get a bad reputation in the culinary world since their strong flavours can be off-putting to many. But not only are they healthy, they can be delicious too.

In India, Ayurveda-based food traditions have always recognised bitter foods as part of a complete meal. Of the six tastes that this science of food and medicine evidently recognises, bitter is an important one. It is said to be airy and light, especially benefitting people with dominant pitta and kapha, and lowering these ‘doshas’.

So how does eating bitters benefit your microbiome exactly? Bitter foods help to stimulate the digestive system and improve the absorption of food. That’s largely because bitters trigger the production of stomach acid, which facilitates a variety of digestive processes when the food you’ve eaten makes its way to the intestinal region. Bitters are believed to help squelch cravings, and recent research suggests it might be due to the taste receptors’ influence on hormones.

Bitter foods are packed with fiber, both soluble and insoluble, which stimulates the growth of healthy gut bacteria. They stimulate the liver to produce bile, which is an important part of optimal digestion. Bile emulsifies fats and renders nutrients especially fat-soluble ones such as vitamins A, D, E and K.

They have unique health benefits, including protection against cancer, heart disease and diabetes, as well as reduced inflammation and oxidative stress. Most of these benefits come from the wide array of polyphenols, which act as antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and pre-biotics.

Cultivate a taste for bitter flavours.

With some culinary craftiness and a little bit of perseverance, you can teach yourself to genuinely like bitter foods. Channel your inner adventurous eater.

Repeated exposure is the number-one way to learn to enjoy bitter foods, according to Barb Stuckey, author of “Taste What You’re Missing.” Adding some cream and the fat will help mitigate the bitterness and improve the texture of your coffee or by massaging kale with oil, the fat masks the bitterness, and massaging it helps break down some of the fibers in the leaves. Sweeten your bitters by adding a little sprinkle of sugar on your grapefruit or honey in your tea.
